My oldest and dearest friend, when we first met at P.E Class, both doing our best to skive off! I knew we were going to be best buds.
Playing Halo at school break with our mates, eating the terrible chips out of the same cheap takeaway while trying to make each other laugh and mucking about, walking half way across the city to buy a fancy futuristic Frisbee, only to immediately get it stuck 30 feet up a tree in the meadows on the first try! So many great memories, I was very lucky to have met Paul.
And growing up, having our first drinks, going out partying on the weekends, crazy house parties, staggering home drunk propping each other up. The epic gaming sessions! Drinking beers and watching crap movies with Michael, laughing until we had tears in our eyes.
So many moments and memories I'll cherish.
And then as adults, old school friends drifted away and lost contact, but we always remained close. We couldn't see each other as much as we would have liked, life and jobs and responsibilities being what they are. But every now and then on a weekend, getting together going for a nice meal, going to watch a movie, heading for something to eat at a Market, we chatted and joked like always, like we had just seen each other yesterday. And to watch Paul fall in love, to meet Emma and create a home together. How proud and happy I was for him, my best mate deserved all the happiness in the world.
I'm so sorry that happiness was cut short my friend, I'd give anything to have you back with us, I love you and miss you, but hopefully I'll see you again one day.
Your best pal Murray.
Paul
